Selecting Your First Yoga Class
Getting into the right class on your first visit, especially if you’re new to yoga, can make or break your studio experience. Set yourself up for success by choosing a class that makes sense for your experience level and fitness goals. For new practitioners we recommend Power Yoga Basics, Slow Flow, and Yin Yoga. We also recommend our Intro Yoga Workshop Series. It’s ideal for beginners.
POWER YOGA BASICS
This class is for beginning students and for students wishing to practice at a slower pace with modified poses. This class combines movement and breath to foster flexibility, relaxation and self- awareness. This is a class to learn the basics of power vinyasa yoga and the principles for de- stressing your life. Our basic’s class is practiced in a warm room for increased flexibility.
Get ready to sweat, be challenged, and have fun! Based on the style of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, students flow from pose to pose – utilizing the principles of alignment, personal awareness and breath. Bring a beach or yoga towel – mats tend to get slippery when wet. The studio is heated to 90 degrees.
POWER ALL LEVELS
This class is a challenging and flowing form of yoga that will torch calories, tone your body, and relax your mind. Based on the style of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, this class is suitable for students of all levels- beginners, intermediate and advanced. Please bring a beach or yoga towel – mats tend to get slippery when wet. The studio is heated to 90 degrees.
Don’t let the name fool you! This class will have you sweating like a typical vinyasa flow class. Experience the same Baptiste methodology we use in the majority of our classes, but slowed down. You will deepen your breath, steady your gaze, build strength and engage your whole body as you flow through this practice. This class is accessible for all levels.
Yin Yoga is a deeply meditative style of yoga that consists of postures that are either done seated or in a supine (on your back) position. By holding postures for an extended period of time, deep layers of fascia; connective tissue which cover muscles, are accessed. Yin aids in injury prevention, calming of the nervous system and is a compliment to our traditional power vinyasa style classes. This class is practiced in a warm room for increased flexibility.
Acro Yoga combines yoga and acrobatics to create a fun, supportive and empowering practice. Working in groups of 2-3, you will build physical strength and balance and overcome fear. Bring a friend or come alone; we will partner you up!
Celebrate music and movement with soul pumping, heart drenching tunes and step into power. This is our traditional Power Hour with a spin. Based on the style of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, students flow from pose to pose – utilizing the principles of alignment, personal awareness and breath. Expect to sweat, dance and have fun!
This free class is designed to use your body and breath as anchors to help you release stress and to experience stillness. This class begins promptly on time and due to its nature we will be unable to accept any latecomers to class.
Hips! The hippest class in town.
The activities and stresses of our daily lives can often lead to tight & reduced range of motion in our hips. In this class we will spend 75 minutes on stabilizing and increasing mobility in all of the movements of the hips, including the IT bands, glutes, hamstrings and quads. Discover how much changes when your hips are open.
