Frank MarkowskiA friend promised Frank that yoga asana would enhance his kick-boxing practice and break up the monotony of his regular gym workouts so he gave it a try. During his first ever yoga experience, he realized an immediate passion for yoga. This same friend invited Frank to MBody Yoga studio and the Baptiste Power Vinyasa yoga practice taught by Mark White. This introduction solidified his resolve to become a teacher of yoga.
Providentially, Mark made the decision to begin his first Teacher Certification Program and Frank did not hesitate to enroll. The life changing experience Mark’s TCP training offers now affords him the privilege to share with others the many benefits that come with a regular yoga practice. Strength, flexibility, and balance are parts of the physical, but enhancing the connection of mind, body and spirit is what makes yoga continually appealing to Frank.
Outside of yoga, Frank has a daytime gig in corporate health care and loves playing and hanging out with his family and friends.
Dawn ClappDawnClapp
Dawn came upon Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga in the summer of 2005. She
had been practicing and teaching yoga for two years and was looking for
an opportunity to deepen her own practice. As a single mother of two
young boys she was also seeking a source of empowerment and peace. Dawn
was hooked after her first class, finding not only a practice that
challenged her physically, but also an opportunity for personal growth.
In February of 2006 Dawn attended Level 1 training in Hawaii with Baron
Baptiste. In June she traveled to Montana to complete Level 2. She is
currently working towards certification from the Baptiste Institute.
Dawn graduated from the University of North Florida in the spring of
2006, where she received a BS in Community Health and Exercise Science.
In addition to teaching Power Hour, Dawn continues to teach yoga once a
week at UNF as well as heading up MBody’s Community Based Class. Her
hope is to ignite the same passion for this practice in all of her
students.
Jamie Sherman
RYT-200, MBody Yoga Teacher Certification ProgramJamieLavi
Jamie began her yoga journey 10 years ago drawn to the physically challenging discipline of Bikram yoga.
In 2005, while living in Guatemala City, Jamie discovered Baptiste Power Vinyasa yoga and was attracted to the freedom and versatility of the practice. She soon discovered an awakening of spirit and a grounding of mind in the inherently physical practice. Upon moving to Jacksonville in 2007, Jamie found MBody Yoga and instantly fell in love with the studio, practice and community.
Teaching has always been a part in Jamie's life — from teaching kids arts and crafts at summer camp, to teaching snowboarding all around the world. Jamie is a graduate of MBody Yoga's TCP Program and a Level 1&2 Radiant Child Yoga Instructor, certified to teach children's yoga. Although she has practiced yoga at studios in many different cities and countries around the globe, MBody Yoga is a place she can call home. To her, yoga is more than asana and Mbody is more than a yoga studio. It is a place that provides an incredible connection between spirituality and physical asana, fun and lightness. This connection has been her true inspiration to teach yoga, creating the desire to share her passion for yoga and life.

Sonny Kadric
Sonny has been a competitive swimmer since he was ten years old and in looking for something to give him an upper hand against his competition he found yoga. His mother is a regular at the MBody studios and encouraged him to take his first class. He was immediately drawn to the physical practice and just a few months after his first class, he signed up for the Teacher Certification Program with the support of his mother and several teachers at MBody.
Taking the Teacher Certification Program was the single best decision of Sonny’s life. He learned that there was so much more to yoga than becoming more flexible and feeling good after practice. Sonny feels empowered by the greater sense of awareness his yoga practice develops. More importantly, he learned how to connect on a deeper level with himself and others by letting go of judgment.
Sonny currently attends the University of North Florida and is majoring in Exercise Science. He also works as a swim coach at Episcopal High School, and he plans to pursue a career in both swimming and yoga. Although Sonny is young, he knows exactly what he desires and loves.
